We attended the Victoria Colourbration Show in Bendigo on August 21st which was a superb event, showcasing close to 550 alpacas over 2 days.  Judges Jenny Jackson and Lynn Dickson selected Supreme Colour Champions from the impressive line ups.

Lee Carrow Seventh Heaven did us proud.  She placed first in her class and went on to take Reserve Champion Fawn Female.

Fawn female champion Wyona Hathor and reserve fawn female champion Lee Carrow Seventh Heaven.

Supreme Fawn Champion was awarded to Patagonia Celtic Rising Sun ET.

June 2010

Lee Carrow Seventh Heaven is the latest addition to our quality fawn breeding program.  This elite fawn female exhibits a very fine fleece, long staple length and high follicular density.

Seventh Heaven has had many show successes and her exceptional traits have been passed on to her first cria that was placed first in her class at the AlpacaFest in Werribee, Victoria.

She will remain in Australia to participate in Canchones’ embryo transfer programme with matings to Patagonia Celtic Rising Sun ET.

February 2010

Franklin A&P Show took place on February 20th.  Results from our fleece entries - 1st black junior fleece - Shamarra Barack, 2nd junior fawn fleece - Shamarra Fausto, 2nd white/light fawn and Reserve Champion - Shamarra Serafina.  We were unable to participate in the breed show.

January 2010

Now on the ground - cria by Shanbrooke Society Razor Sharp ET, in white and fawns.  His cria are exhibiting fineness, brightness and pronounced character throughout.

Rotorua A&P Show - January 30th saw well over 100 alpacas judged by Molly Gardner (Suri) and Lloyd Johnson (Huacaya) in a relaxed and well organised show thanks to Sue & Hermione Richards.

Our successes included ribbon wins of our four alpacas shown, including Reserve Fawn Champion awarded to our senior fawn female, Banksia Park Destiny Child ET.

Warkworth A&P Show - January 16th was a fantastic day for our show team.  All six alpacas entered were placed either 1st or 2nd in their classes and then went on to win Intermediate Champion (Shamarra Fausto), Senior Champion (Banksia Park Destiny Child) and Senior Reserve Champion (Traron Tiamo).  Supreme Champion was awarded to Destiny Child.  In addition to that, sires progeny went to Bingarra Dominator.

December 2009

December saw the arrival of our new stud male, Shanbrooke Accoyo Protege (ET) and our two females, Banksia Park KOK Destiny Child (ET) and Traron Tiamo.  They arrived in excellent condition after a month of quarantine at Mariah Hill in Victoria, and adjusted quickly to their new environment and herd mates.

The Whangarei A&P Show on December 6th was another successful event, convened superbly by Mike Moller.  We entered three intermediate males that all placed, with Shamarra Fausto (pictured) being award Mid/Dark Fawn Reserve Champion in the Composite Class.

Our first Shanbrooke Society Razor Sharp (ET) cria started arriving in December and all three are very impressive.  We are delighted that the cria born are colour - rose grey, light fawn and dark fawn to date, out of dams that are either colour or have colour in their genetics.

November 2009

Waikato World in Hamilton over the first weekend in November saw a record number of entries, making this the second largest show in New Zealand.  Well done Mary-Ann!  Great show!

Shamarra Nova (by Bingarra Dominator) was awarded Reserve Champion Intermediate Female, which was very pleasing.  Nova has consistently impressed the judges in all her outings.

Shamarra Fausto placed 2nd in junior fawn class and Shamarra Barack, 3rd in junior brown class.  Reserve Champion fleece went to Shanbrooke Society Razor Sharp ET

October 2009

Shanbrooke Accoyo Protege ET

The latest addition to our herdsires is this outstanding young male, sired by Shanbrooke Accoyo Yavari (sire of 2 Australian National Supreme Champions) and out of Shanbrooke Accoyo Taquile.  Taquile has produced champion after champion including the 2008 Australian Supreme Champion - Prodigy, full brother of Protege.  2009 AAA National show successes include Junior Female Champion and Adult Female Champion that are both daughters of Taquile.  She also won Get of Dam.

Females are a high priority in our herd and we had the opportunity to purchase two superb females at the AAA 2009 National Show.

Banksia Park KOK Destiny Child ET is a fawn, super fine female (16.5u, 3.7sd, 100%cf) backed by excellent genetics - sired by BP Khan ET and out of BP Peruvian Destiny.

Destiny Child has had many showring successes, including Junior Female Reserve Champion, a significant accomplishment for a medium fawn alpaca.

Well conformed with a gentle nature, we expect Destiny Child will produce cria of superior quality.

Traron Tiamo boasts remarkable fleece stats - 2.9 sd, 14.7 cv, 99.6% cf and 18.5sf, more common in merino than alpaca.  Her 9 month cria fleece weighed an impressive 3kg.  Tiamo's sire is Traron Everest (Jolimont Trovatello and Jolimont Blooming) and dam Traron Vogue.  Her sire, Jolimont Diodoro, at 10 years old had a comfort factor of 98%.

This stylish female has a successful showing career, having won her class every time.

September 2009

National Alpaca Expo was held in Feilding, Manawatu at the end of September - and what a show it was!  The event was organised by Eric Lister and his team who did a fantastic job.

Well done to Silverstream and Surico for winning supreme awards for their Huacaya and Suri respectively.

The auction, held at the conclusion of the show saw the highest bid of $40,000 go to Waiheke Alpaca for Waiheke Snowshell.

Silverdale Alpacas were proud to be sponsors of Mid/Dark Fawn Huacaya Champion and congratulate Stoneleigh, owners of Stoneleigh Lothario, for winning the trophy.
